The heather has been in the book for many years. It still has colour and there is no marking to the book.by bookhound
I have always wondered at the way a sprig of heather holds its colour (and a little of its scent)if it is picked. Left on the growing plant the pink fades through September and by October the flowers are the same tan colour as the bracken. I wonder how old this piece might be?
