about the find:

it has "35p" written on the back in pencil. I can't really tell what the strip is from. looks like a picture of a mechanic.

I can't understand why the shop owner cut off a strip of something and wrote the price on that instead of writing in the cover like every other shop owner. Perhaps he was told off for writing in books as a youngster...

I like the image of the shop owner who collects and cuts into strips pieces scrap or discarded paper for price slips to preserve the sanctity of the book. I imagine the shop was very neat.
These types of finds seem small but have huge potential.
